Dr. Jane Pouzou
Jane specializes in the probabilistic assessment of environmental and occupational exposures to chemical and microbial agents and their potential impacts on human health. She works directly with decision-makers and stakeholders to understand trade-offs, decision criteria, and preferences around risk.
Jane joined EpiX Analytics after completion of her doctoral degree in 2016 at the University of Washington School of Public Health’s Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. Her dissertation work was a comparative risk assessment of occupational exposures to pesticides used in the tree fruit industry in Washington state. She combined probabilistic simulations of human exposure and risk with decision analysis methodology for the prediction of pesticide selection and the resulting health-health tradeoffs.
Jane’s research interests include comparative exposure and risk assessments and the use of decision analysis methods in health risk evaluation. She holds a PhD from the University of Washington and a Master of Public Health from the University of Virginia.
