Introduction to Quantitative Risk Analysis for Animal Health and Food Safety

Course Overview

This course provides a practical introduction to risk analysis and quantitative risk assessment for animal health and food safety. Veterinarians (specifically those in food safety, regulatory animal health and research) will learn what risk analysis is and how it is used to support decision-making in animal health and food safety. We will introduce organizations that govern international standards, will explain the main components of quantitative risk analysis in animal health and food safety, and discuss similarities and differences. We will review published examples to illustrate how quantitative risk assessments supports decision-making and inform policies.

This program has been submitted (but is not yet approved) for 8 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize RACE approval.
