Drug Effectiveness and Side Effects

When evaluating a drug’s effectiveness and side effects, typically results from clinical trials are used that compare the effects of the drug against a placebo or one or more alternative drugs. One of the challenges with this is that typically a few or numerous clinical studies are available, each with different or sometimes even conflicting results.

EpiX Analytics has helped a number of pharmaceutical firms in evaluating effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and side-effects of select drugs. Monte Carlo simulation, Markov Chain Monte Carlo and meta-analytical techniques were used in different studies, all of which were presented at scientific conferences or published in peer-reviewed journals.
